Web Site is Launched
In order to reach out to as many potential voters, a new Website was launched this morning. With a new look and feel, a newly outlined platform and opportunities for people to get involved it is hoped that a new era in Ward 1 is about to begin.
Lets all work together to spread the word in person and on social media about this campaign to elect Jason Boelhouwer for Ward 1 in Burlington.

Keep your $$ - Lets get together instead...
There are enough people trying to put their hands into your pockets without City Political candidates doing it too. Jason Boelhouwer says that his "campaign is funded by me and my wife. In fact I don't want peoples money, I don't want companies money - it's not about money."
What Mr. Boelhouwer wants he says is "far more valuable - time. Rather than giving away your money, why not invite a neighbour or a few neighbours over for coffee and ask me to come too. We can sit and talk. I'm ready to listen to what you have to say, I need to know what you want anyways..... how else can I represent you on City Council ?"

Boelhouwer enters Campaign for City Council.
Four years ago the first person to register as a candidate in Ward 1 was Jason Boelhouwer, even though he came in second behind only the incumbent, Mr. Boelhouwer feels that he has learned some valuable lessons that will help him be successful this time around.
"Without an incumbent" says Boelhouwer "the lessons I learned from the last election will give me a definite advantage in name recognition, and how to avoid the pitfalls."

Stand up for Ward 1
Rules are what they are, but lets be clear about this.....representation on City Council is best done by someone who lives in the Ward that they are representing.
If you truly care about where you live and want to make a difference in your community, isn't that where you should start ? Running for election outside of where you live is allowed under the Election rules, but does it make sense for someone living in another part of the City to run in Ward 1 ?
Another question is why would anyone support someone who is not their neighbour ? I would not vote for someone who lives in Ward 2 or Ward 6 because I'd always wonder whether their loyalties lie where they have chosen to live or are they with us. City Council can be divisive and often times options have to be weighed, how will the scales tip when they have to weigh their family and children vs. ours ?
Walter Mulkewich, Jack Cowman, Rob McIsaac and Rick Craven all lived in Ward 1 and served our City with distinction.
Our next Councillor should too !
